Software Engineer 2

Cashea is seeking a Software Engineer to help build innovative, reliable, and scalable financial products that bring optimism back to Venezuelans. You will work across our consumer and merchant-facing platforms used by millions, contributing to APIs, mobile and web experiences, and data-driven services. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams to ship impactful features with transparency, inclusion, and measurable impact.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for high-traffic financial applications
• Develop high-quality, testable, and secure code for web/mobile features used by consumers and merchants
• Collaborate with product, design, and data to translate requirements into resilient technical solutions
• Own services end-to-end: architecture, implementation, testing, observability, and production support
• Improve system performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency as usage grows to millions of users
• Implement robust security, privacy, and compliance best practices across the stack
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and engineering standards fostering transparency
• Use metrics, monitoring, and experimentation to drive awareness and continuous improvement
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure inclusive, accessible, and localized user experiences
• Participate in on-call/incident response to maintain high availability and trust

• Proven experience shipping production software in a high-scale or fintech/consumer environment
• Strong proficiency in at least one server-side language (e.g., Node.js/TypeScript, Go, Java, or Python)
• Hands-on experience designing RESTful/GraphQL APIs and integrating with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases, data modeling, and query optimization
• Commitment to code quality: testing, CI/CD, observability (logs/metrics/tracing), and documentation
• Knowledge of security fundamentals: authentication/authorization, encryption, secure coding practices
• Familiarity with frontend or mobile development (e.g., React/React Native) is a plus
• Experience with event-driven or streaming architectures (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub) is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with strong ownership and communication
• Fluency in English or Spanish; familiarity with the Venezuelan market or LATAM fintech is a plus
